Ty Segall - Singles 2007 - 2010

The past few years have seen a glut of limited singles flowing out of the U.S. garage punk hubs, from Memphis to San Francisco to Chicago and on down to Florida. And as the popularity of artists rises in inverse proportion to the availability of those early slabs, it only seems natural that rounding up the out of print tracks onto a compilation should ensue. With everyone from Jay Reatard to Thee Oh Sees already having their collections bound back to vinyl it does seem that Mr. Segall is in line for a set of his own. Goner has combed through a stack of out of print 7"s and limited compilation tracks for the upcoming Singles 2007 - 2010. Previous RSTB faves like Ty's cover of Simply Saucer's "Bullet Proof Nothing" rear their heads alongside forgotten nuggets like "I Think I've Had It" which saw light on the Yeti 8 comp. Both sides of the rougher, original "My Sunshine" single for Trouble in Mind appear alongside the covers split with Thee Oh Sees and even a few songs that haven't seen the light of day for good measure. The only omission seems to be the "Universal Momma" single but I'm not going to shed any tears. It seems like a well built overview of what you may have missed from Segall.
